Portal

A portal is set up as a point of access to specific information.

Usually found in businesses, news media and across the internet, a portal allows select users access to restricted content, usually that is password protected and encrypted.  It functions as a gatekeeper to keep unlicensed users or everyday browsers from gaining inside information.  Many financial sites on the internet today offer secure, restricted access to their clientele or employees on the status of trades, financial market analysis, latest industry news feeds and options review, to name a few.

Customizing your personal data stream is a popular feature and allows investors updated information with a few easy keystrokes on their laptop or tablet.
